This video is the first in my series on the Northern Constellations. I will be going through all the major constellations, beginning with Orion. Feedback is greatly appreciated. :) Special Thanks to TheUltimateNihilist and Andrewski88, who have been encouraging me to begin this series for some time now. http://www.youtube.com/user/TheUltimateNihilist http://www.youtube.com/user/whospeaksforearth Orion Constellation Image credit: Orion Stars © Image provided by Matthew Spinelli http://www.biochem.szote.u-szeged.hu/astrojan/orion.htm Betelgeuse image 1 credit 1. ©2010 Haubois / Perrin (LESIA, Observatoire de Paris http://www.aanda.org/index.php?option=article&access=standard&Itemid=129&url=/articles/aa/abs/2009/47/aa12927-09/aa12927-09.html http://www.scientificamerican.com/gallery_directory.cfm?photo_id=2EFA7271-A5CF-FF57-36D9F55C2DDC9EC7 Betelgeuse image 2 Image credit: NACO adaptive optics instrument on ESO's Very Large Telescope (VTL) in Chile. http://www.phys.ncku.edu.tw/~astrolab/mirrors/apod_e/ap090805.html Orion Constellation 2 Image Credit: Celestia http://www.shatters.net/celestia/ Witch Head Nebula Image credit: Rogelio Bernal Andreo (Deep Sky Colors) http://blog.deepskycolors.com/about.html http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap091229.html Image credit: Trapezium cluster: WFPC2, Hubble space telescope , NICMOS, NASA and K. Mar 19, 2010 - wonderful video! 5'd, fav'd, and instantly sub'd! if i may, i have only one very tiny point of criticism: the font you used on the stars is a bit difficult to read when the video is played at standard resolution (and that only refers to the three belt stars at 3:15). i would suggest you use block letters instead of script when the font needs to be small. it's nothing, really... again, awesome video! looking forward to the next stargazing!

Mar 19, 2010 - Thank you so much for the feedback! I will work on the text issue for the next video, and hopefully it will be less fuzzy with a straighter font. I want it to be the best it can be, so I really appreciate your comment. Glad you enjoyed otherwise, though! Thank you for the sub as well. :)

Mar 20, 2010 - @fizzybgood my pleasure! and please consider my criticism as microscopic and a bit due to my obsession with typography on my own videos (it literally takes me hours to decide which font i'm going to use)... but your video has made my day - as it happens, i had been reading up on beteigeuze just a few hours before i stumbled across your film...

Mar 1, 2011 - You've got the voice that should be narrating this kind of stuff on TV. It's perfect for it, much in the same way David Attenborough's voice is perfect for nature programs. One thing you should have went into detail about Orion and it's nebula is the "Running Man" nebula. Anyway, I enjoyed watching your videos.
